Show the motion, then hand it to AI: TypeUI shares 113 interactions

Hold a button to confirm. Undo an item you just deleted. TypeUI released 113 working examples on October 22 that let you try small interface behaviors and copy corresponding instructions for AI coding tools. Developers are discussing the collection on Hacker News.

Try the behavior before describing what to build

The searchable collection spans 11 categories, including buttons, inputs and notifications. Examples show validation feedback and upload progress. Copy the implementation prompt for a chosen example into Claude, Codex, Cursor or another AI coding tool.

Choose what happens after the click

The collection supports light and dark themes and mobile layouts. Moving examples help communicate what happens during an interaction, beyond what a still screenshot can show.

At observation, the Hacker News post had 50 points and 20 comments. This is an example of early developer interest, not a worldwide popularity ranking.

The references we give AI are starting to move.

What happens after you press the button? With today’s TypeUI collection, you can try that behavior before choosing what to ask AI to build.

“Make it move nicely” becomes an example right in front of you. That is easier to communicate.

Show progress during a wait. Leave a way back immediately after deletion. Small behaviors explain the interface to the person using it. A working reference can make that explanation part of the starting point for creation.

OpenAI’s Decisions API, made generally available on the same day, provides a way to choose the next action during a conversation. Its announcement includes an example of selecting an avatar’s expression in response to what a person is saying.

Put these two developments together and the scope of interface design grows. Show the behavior you want with a reference, then choose its timing in response to a conversation. Connecting those capabilities would let teams test the moments during a wait or immediately after an action in more detail.

An interface reference given to AI will encompass both its appearance before a click and its response afterward.
